The car that returned Scuderia Ferrari to the pinnacle of sportscar racing, the 499P was Ferrari’s first foray into the newly created Hypercar class in the FIA World Endurance Championship, where it has won the fabled 24 Hours of Le Mans two years running. Introduced for the 2023 season, the 499P marked Ferrari’s reappearance in the elite class of endurance racing for the first time in 50 years.

Ferrari 499P: A Legacy Reborn

The Ferrari 499P is a nod to the brand’s rich Le Mans history, with its name referencing the engine displacement (499) and "P" for Prototype. Its livery mirrors that of the 1973 312P, celebrating Ferrari’s return to endurance racing. The #50 and #51 race numbers honor Ferrari's past, with #50 marking the return to Le Mans after 50 years and #51 representing a winning legacy.

Cutting-Edge Design and Technology

The 499P blends Ferrari's racing heritage with modern innovation. Built on a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, it features a hybrid powertrain with a 2.9-liter V6 engine, paired with an electric motor for the front axle. This hybrid system delivers 680hp, with a 200 kW Energy Recovery System powered by Ferrari’s F1 expertise. The car's design focuses on aerodynamic efficiency, with flowing bodywork and a rear double wing for maximum downforce.

Competition Success

The Ferrari 499P debuted at the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship, marking Ferrari’s return to top-tier endurance racing. The #50 car earned a podium at the 1000 Miles of Sebring, while the #51 car won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, securing Ferrari’s first victory at the race since 1965. In 2024, Ferrari introduced a third car, the #83, alongside the #50 and #51 entries. At Le Mans 2024, Ferrari claimed a historic 11th overall win, with the #50 car winning by just 14 seconds over Toyota.

24 Hours of Le Mans, 2024: A Dramatic Victory

At the 2024 Le Mans, Ferrari’s #50 car, driven by Fuoco, Molina, and Nielsen, clinched victory after a dramatic final stint. Despite fierce competition from Toyota and Porsche, Ferrari executed a perfect strategy to stretch fuel and secure the win. The #51 car also finished on the podium, marking Ferrari’s second consecutive victory and their 11th overall Le Mans win. This achievement added to Ferrari’s rich motorsport legacy, making them the first manufacturer since 1934 to win both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco GP in the same year.

The Ferrari 499P is limited to 499 pieces per livery at 1:8 scale.
