In the opening race of the 2025 WEC, held at the Lusail circuit in Qatar on 2 March 2025, the Ferrari 499P dominated the competition, achieving a historic hat-trick. The number 50 car, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, crossed the finish line first, followed by the other two 499Ps.
The Ferrari 499P with race number 50 triumphed in the opening race of the 2025 World Endurance Championship (WEC) by combining the speed and reliability of the car, strategy and speed in the pits.
Compared to the 2024 version, the 2025 Ferrari 499P, a hybrid car with an aerodynamic design studied to maximize efficiency, features several significant innovations. The car sports a deeper, more intense shade of red, with matte finishes that recall Ferrari's historic racing cars and a stylistic approach to Formula 1 cars. The 499P 2025 brings to the track the technical developments introduced during the 2024 season, in particular those implemented in Sao Paulo, taking advantage of the "jokers", exceptions allowed by the regulations such as the new brake cooling ducts.
