For some people, the Ferrari "275 GTB" is a masterpiece. For everybody it was one of the most important cars of Ferrari, as with it substantial changes were introduced.
Starting by the initials that, for the first time, incorporates the "B" of "Berlinetta" and the number "275", the unit displacement of a new generation of engines, the largest and most advanced of "250".
For the body, Battista Pininfarina studied "strong" lines, following the suggestions of Mr Ferrari himself, who said about the previous "250 GTL": " it is too elegant to be a Ferrari."
The target was achieved by drawing high and swollen sides, strongly marked by the ventilation slots on the front fenders and on the rear.
The curved windshield and headlights faired (authorized as an exception to the Highway Code at the time) were other striking elements.
The "275 GTB" debuted at the Paris Salon of 1964, with an aluminium body (painted in a shrill "Yellow Fly"). But it was used for the production of steel, aluminium, leaving the option to sports clients.
